About Me
JOSIE SMITH - CAKE DECORATOR - HOMEMAKER - MOTHER

Nice to meet you!
I was just like every mother out there. As the kids got older so did the expenses. A custom cake for 6 kids each year was not in the budget. Planning parties was fun! First birthdays had to be over the top and one to remember. Well, at least a party that would please the in-laws and make a great impression.

So I decided to give it a go! As a home baker, the fundamentals were pretty easy to master. I developed my technique working with fondant, molding chocolate and you guessed it frosting!
Being a single mother at that time was pretty rough. I started working for a few Walmart's Stores in Fabrics & Crafts and as a Cake Decorator for approximately 12 years total.

It paid the bills but I just was not happy with the way some stores treated their associates and myself.
After my brush with death as a cervical cancer survivor everything changed. I realized I was wasting my life away stuck in retail working long hours and even came in on my days off.
Missing out on my friends and family.
I made the decision not to go back to Walmart.
It was time I worked for myself and finally live my dreams.
I wanted to bring to the table what the commercial stores refused to do and change the cake industry based on the need of what each customer needed.

I did not always make cakes. My medium in the art world would be a vast array of applied designs, in the art of clay work, painting, and freehand drawing. I also sew costumes and make the props for my kid's costumes, everyday wear and just something fun to make and sale on eBay once and awhile.

It was just my time to shine. So here I am! Hi, I am Josie how can I help you plan for your special day?
